The Wedding Planning Checklist

All ready stressing about Wedding Planning? Don’t fret…this quick and easy “guideline” checklist will steer you in the right direction!

12 Months Before

  • Start a wedding folder or even a Pinterest board to gather your thoughts and ideas. Be reasonable with your ideas!

  • Compile a realistic budget and add a small cushion for last minute or must-haves.

  • Pick your wedding party

  • Start the Guest List - you’ll need a rough headcount and address count for a lot of planning items!

  • Hire a planner

  • Visit venues and reserve your date!

  • Book officiant

  • Start to research key vendors: photographers, bands/DJs, florists, caterers. Ask friends and fellow vendors.

8 Months Before

  • Hire your photographer and/or videographer. Schedule engagement pictures

  • Book your band or DJ

  • Plan tastings with caterers and baker

  • Purchase your dress - dresses take 4-6 months for delivery!

  • Reserve hotel room blocks, if needed.

  • Register for your gifts

  • Create your wedding website - essential for online RSVP

6 Months Before

  • My favorite part: start the Invitation ordering process!

  • Start planning honeymoon

  • Pick out and order Bridesmaids’ dresses

  • Send Save the Dates

  • Reserve any rental that may be necessary for the venue and reception

  • Book your florist

  • Reserve transportation, if needed, from venue to reception

  • Create your day-of timeline, if your planner hasn’t already

4 Months Before

  • Book the rehearsal and dinner venue

  • Wedding invitations should be sent to print and guest addressing started

  • Order the cake

  • Purchase wedding shoes, lingerie and jewelry

  • Schedule hair and makeup artist for trial run and day of

  • Choose your music

3 Months Before

  • Finalize menu

  • Order favors

  • Finalize readings or ceremony order

  • Order menu cards, programs and other day-of stationery

2 Months Before

  • Send out invitations - be sure you have correct postage and RSVP postage so none get returned.

  • PARTY time - bachelorette + bachelor parties!

1 Month Before

  • RSVPs should be coming in - updated and send list to all parties requiring a headcount

  • Get your marriage license

  • Mail rehearsal dinner invitations

  • Final dress fitting

  • Make final vendor payments

  • Purchase bridal party gifts

  • Compose vows, if needed.

  • Schedule hair appointment for color touch up and trim

Week of

  • Confirm with all vendors

  • Send timeline to bridal party

  • Pick up dress

  • Touchbase with photographer

  • Pack for the honeymoon
