One of my favorite parts of being a wedding stationery designer is Styled Shoots. As a “behind the scenes” vendor, I’m not often in the mix with the “day of” vendors that tend to get center stage on the wedding day. By participating in a Styled Shoot, wedding vendors are able to come together for a full day of creative preparation and networking in an effort to put together a mock wedding/event.
One of the most often comments I hear when it comes to wedding invitations is “it’s just paper.” While that may be true, this simple piece of paper captures one of life’s biggest moments in such a significant way that it deserves to be treasured as an heirloom and an everlasting memory of that moment. That piece of paper signifies the joining of two hearts and writes the story of the who, what, when and where. Think of it as the prologue to the epic love story your about to embark on.
The joy of a new engagement brings many parties along with gifts celebrating the occasion. It is always a thoughtful gesture to send a Thank You card for to share your joy for their token of support and love. While doing so, you’ll also need to keep in mind that another round of Thank You cards will need to go out AFTER the wedding.
As an invitation designer, I am often asked by my brides the “Do’s and Don’ts” of Wedding Invitation Etiquette. (It comes with the territory!)
